Dearborn, Mich. (PROTEXT) - Visteon Automotive Systems
continues to build an expert portfolio of international
engineering and production capability with the purchase of Naldec
Corporation in Hiroshima, Japan.
Naldec engineers and manufactures advanced electronic body and
safety vehicle modules. Acquisition of the corporation allows
Visteon to establish a manufacturing and technical base in Japan
that will be leveraged throughout the Asia Pacific Region.
"Visteon is committed to providing vehicle manufacturers
throughout the world with leading edge engineering and design
expertise and the very best modules and systems available," said
Craig Muhlhauser, president, Visteon. "Our purchase of Naldec is
crucial to our ability to effectively do this in the Asia Pacific
Region. We are pleased to welcome the Naldec team to Visteon."
Visteon purchased 100 percent of Naldec from Mazda Motor
Corporation for an undisclosed sum. Currently, the majority of
Naldec's sales are to Mazda.
Naldec's manufacturing plant in Hiroshima produces
approximately 4 million air bag, antilock brake, keyless entry,
speed control and other electrical modules annually. The
corporation employs approximately 220 people, including about 70
engineers.
"Visteon's acquisition of Naldec will allow us to incorporate
new, leading-edge manufacturing processes at all of our global
facilities -- processes that will better serve our customers,"
said Roger Saillant, vice president, Energy Transformation
Systems, Visteon. "It allows us to build our relationship with
Mazda and supports our strategy of winning the business, and the
confidence, of every major vehicle manufacturer in the world."
